Continuously and systematically optimising tried-and-tested products has always been part of the DNA of Schüco. A prime example of this is the new platform for the highly thermally insulated Schüco ASE 60/80.HI (Aluminium Sliding Element High Insulation) sliding systems. While developing the system concept, the focus was on both the platform concept and fabrication details. With its innovative platform, Schüco is setting new standards for aluminium sliding doors. The profile systems offer pioneering thermal insulation up to passive house level combined with a highly varied range of technology, functions and designs.

This includes a host of groundbreaking developments: optimised use of identical parts, a modular fittings system, expanded range of sizes and opening types as well as slimline profiles and solutions for preventing the bi-metallic effect. The high level of flexibility in planning and design within the platform ensures attractive sliding system solutions for a wide variety of requirements in luxury residential and commercial construction.

ARCHITECTURE

New dimensions in design freedom. The Schüco ASE sliding system generation offers a range of configurations and designs which meet all of the requirements of commercial and residential construction. This includes the extended range of sizes, higher vent weights as well as new opening options running internally and other opening types. A profile-integrated safety barrier provides the utmost protection – without detracting from the architectural design.

3200 mm or 3200 mm x 3500 mm create a pleasant atmosphere with living spaces that are flooded with light.

TECHNOLOGY

With their optimised insulation zones, the profile systems offer significantly improved thermal insulation properties in all basic depths, even up to passive house level with a basic depth of 80 mm. All system design options, be it single, double or triple-track, are based on multi-functional profiles which facilitate optimum use of identical parts. A further benefit is that the modular fittings system can be used as a sliding or lift-and-slide fitting as, apart from a few exceptions, the components are identical.

The technology of the ASE sliding system platform meets the latest standards of modern building in terms of security and design too. The burglar-resistant solution is designed without security pins in the interlock area. This ensures simple operation of the system combined with an appearance that does not differ from the standard design. Burglar resistance can also be combined with the split insulating bar vents for even better compensation of the bi-metallic effect.

Modular profile system

All system designs are based on profile modules with a small number of half profiles – perfect for creating a wide variety of modular and flexible unit solutions.

The new fittings platform allows two operating types to be achieved with minimum use of components: sliding or lift-and-slide vents.

DESIGN

The innovative ASE platform offers new profile and fittings options which allow pioneering design solutions. The slimline interlock section with minimal sightlines ensures maximum transparency. The level threshold guarantees a smooth, barrier-free transition from inside to outside. Overall, the system stands out with its stylish, high-quality overall appearance with clean lines which can also be optimised with the new fittings option with bolt pins in the vent.

COMFORT

For maximum individual ease of use, various function packages can be selected and combined for the ASE sliding systems. The extensive range includes fully automated control of the system by means of Schüco TipTronic, operating and security options such as Schüco SmartStop and Schüco SmartClose, which support the closing process, and mechanical solutions which help the user lift and lower the sliding vent by means of spring tension.

Schüco SmartStop/SmartClose

Integrated SmartStop and SmartClose modules slow the vents down gently and support the closing process. Moreover, depending on the system version, the vent is automatically drawn
into the closed position.

Operation at the touch of a button

Schüco TipTronic can be used to move large
vent units weighing up to 600 kg to be moved fully automatically, easily and comfortably.

Schüco ASE 60/80 TipTronic

Schüco ASE 60/80 TipTronic (Aluminium Sliding Element) sets new standards in mechatronic sliding systems. This innovative generation of fittings not only offers the fully concealed installation of all fittings components, but also a fully tested system consisting of a drive, fitting and profile system – all from a single source. With generous vent units of up to 3.5 x 3.2 metres or 3.2 x 3.5 metres, you can experience a new spatial dimension. The interplay with particularly narrow face widths creates a level of transparency that blurs the boundary between indoors and outdoors. When combined with the wide range of different opening types and various comfort options, it means that any design and aesthetic requirements can be met.

Maximum opening widths and boundless comfort

Vent weights up to 600 kg are now possible, with vents available in both internally and externally running configurations. The travel of the sliding system has also been maximised up to approximately 18 m. The new system permits extremely simple cabling and assembly without the need for a cable link connector between the vent frame and outer frame. Operation, using either the “Building Skin Control” app or the operating switch, is likewise simple and comfortable, so that reliable operation for all user groups is guaranteed. Outstanding design ensures a wide range of options via single, double and triple-track opening types. The fittings system, which is also modular, can be used as both sliding and lift-and-slide fittings; apart from a few exceptions, all the components are identical. Comprehensive security functions such as integrated software protection, sensor strips and the option of using security sensors ensure secure operation in all installation scenarios.

Schüco TipTronic & Building Skin Control

One system for all units: Schüco Building Skin Control (BSC), the comprehensive platform for the integration, control and monitoring of mechatronic Schüco units, has an open interface for maximum variety. It can be connected to open building management systems such as KNX or BACnet as well as external smart home systems such as Amazon Alexa. All mechatronic Schüco units and functions are comprehensively commissioned and configured using the Automation Engineering Tool software. Integrated sensor technology allows automated functions for maximum comfort, such as time-controlled window ventilation or energy-saving night-time cooling. The innovative technology opens up new levels of application freedom. With Schüco BSC, Schüco windows and sliding systems can be operated easily by means of voice command without having to use a smartphone or button. For example: “Alexa, ventilate the living room.” The new Schüco dashboard offers an individual overview of all Schüco BSC systems installed in projects in one web interface. The spectrum ranges from adjustable maintenance cycles for each project, group or unit, through to automatic notifications for pending maintenance or events. All units can be assigned to buildings, floors and rooms, allowing them to be localised easily and quickly if there is an event or maintenance is required.

DESIGN, FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION

New principles and details have been introduced in the fabrication of the Schüco ASE 60/80 sliding system range. In contrast to previous series, the whole fabrication process is now identical for both basic depths. This makes the project-specific selection of the right basic depth for fabrication more flexible. The corner cleats can be fabricated with either nails or screws. Using preassembled components, fabrication is quicker and more reliable. For example, there are plastic profiles with integrated gaskets. In another simplification, the slider profile is now available as a 6 m profile, which helps make vent installation easier.

With TipTronic, signal and energy transfer takes place without cable link connectors between vent and outer frame, while cable guide channels save time during cabling. The main control unit for TipTronic, integrated in the outer frame, facilitates quick fabrication and allows easy access for servicing and maintenance. The new wizard function provides easy and secure guidance through the individual commissioning steps.

Innovative TipTronic technology based on drive and control components integrated in the profile makes possible vent weights of up to 600 kg, twelve different opening types, and allows vents to move up to 18 m (depending on the opening type).

The system can be controlled in various ways by means of a highquality operating switch on the vent, with visual status display via
the wall-mounted switch, the Schüco app or via a connection to the home automation system. All versions of the sliding units may also be seamlessly integrated into the Schüco Building Skin Control system.

The new ASE 60/80 sliding system range sets new standards in terms of thermal insulation, design and comfort. Numerous multifunctional components ensure shorter fabrication and installation times.
